Diagnostic Efficiency of Inflammatory Prognostic Index on Pain Scoring for Degenerated Intervertebral Disc

چکیده

Aim: Inflammatory Prognostic Index (IPI), calculated via Albumin, CRP and Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), is used in the inflammation related diseases. The study focused efficacy predictive effect of IPI terms Visual Analog Scales (VAS) for interpretation back leg pain. Materials Methods: This multicenter retrospective clinical was performed by hospital records Degenerated Intervertebral Disc (DIVD) treated between January 2020 February 2022. value formula “CRPxNLR/Albumin”. Results: There a significant difference VAS-B (2.38±1.74; p=0.0001) VAS-L (7.09±1.44; p=0.00017) comparison paired VAS values before after surgery. Similar change occurred within walking distance According to correlation analysis index with DIVD pain scoring, VAS-B(r=0.391; delta (r=0.422; p=0,00004) showed positive IPI. In ROC diagnostic IPI, cut-off above 0.184 as 78.9% sensitivity 64.3% specificity (UAC:0.702; p:0.003; CI%95: 0.581-0.815). Conclusion: We strong relationship scoring DIVD. very important can be physicians follow-up

The Inflammatory properties of the Intervertebral Disc

Dr. Twomey showed us, through meticulous dissections that the conventional model of a disc bulging out against a nerve root is not only very unlikely, but that mechanical compression of a nerve only produces paresthesia and numbness. Discs do bulge, but is usually contained within/around the posterior longitudinal ligament. Furthermore a mechanical model that teaches a disc pushes against a ner...

Effect of one session of suspension exercises on characteristic of intervertebral disc and pain in office staff with chronic pain caused by lumbar herniated disc

Aims and background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a session of suspended exercise using a tool designed for pain and characteristic of intervertebral disc of the lumbar vertebrae. Materials and methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 12 men with chronic low back pain caused by lumbar disc herniation in ...

Effects of Morphine Dependency on Intervertebral Disc in the Rat

Background: A large proportion of patients presenting with lumbar disc disease are opium addicts in our region. It was, therefore, hypothesized that morphine might affect the intervertebral disc. We investigated the histological findings of morphine dependency on intervertebral discs in rat. Methods: Forty NMRI adult male rats (230-250 g) placed on ordinary diet and received aqueous solution of...

Inflammatory profiles in canine intervertebral disc degeneration

BACKGROUND Intervertebral disc (IVD) disease is a common spinal disorder in dogs and degeneration and inflammation are significant components of the pathological cascade. Only limited studies have studied the cytokine and chemokine profiles in IVD degeneration in dogs, and mainly focused on gene expression. A better understanding is needed in order to develop biological therapies that address b...
